as i read Khalil Gibran's poetry, my faith grows stronger. still, i'm uncertain about my approach.
am i truly living enough if someone is on my mind so often? too many questions pack too little time. time is precious.
i know it benefits me not to ask the wrong questions. why takes me nowhere. how books my travel into the finally seen future.
now, how do i present myself to folks and be fulfilled by effort rather than stained with regret?
how do i succeed?
how do i live by my own rules and reap the harvest of my nonconformity?
no more living by any other man's rules! who is he to architect my blueprint?
he knows nothing of me. i'm going to do me. i shall live infinitely by making other remember me past dementia, past death.
i'm Stephen Alexander Hicks -- an imperfect man who wants to drink from the cup of life and feast at its table forevermore. i shall see distant lands, walk them with confident posture.
i shall see what only a few eyes have witnessed.
i have nothing to lose but inexperience.
i have everything to gain but idleness.
my resources cannot and should not and will not be wasted.
