Standing ‘neath this crimson moon in a crystal clear sky
Dogwood blooms like snow on her limbs
Mother Moon asks me, “What is your wish child?”
And I cry, “I don’t know where to begin.”

I want to be more than I am without losing my soul
Want to bend like a willow, I want to be harder than stone
I want to dance in the rain from the tears in my eyes.
I want to sing down this blood moon tonight

Crimson moon shinin’ on the cold earth at my feet
Water falls and melts away stone
Mother Moon asks me, “What will your wish be?”
And I say, “Can I have more than one?”

I want to be brave when I’m frightened, and humbled when I’m wrong
I want to love sweet, want to speak truth, want to be strong
I want to be darker than shadow, and brighter than light
I want to sing down this blood moon tonight
