unfinished self by mandala eyes
originally planned as a collaboration that didn't work out, this record is about embracing things as they are, learning to not define things as failures just because they didn't unfold like you imagined they would, and about finding a paradoxical peace within the relentless unpredictability of life. the title "unfinished self" comes from that, and also from the raw, unpolished textures of the sounds. this album's process helped me to accept more deeply the truth that the self is a work in progress, always growing, dying, changing, learning, emptying, filling, and never finished.
