I wanted to make music like field recordings. Rhythms and melodies emerging from formless drift, not necessarily in a regular or repeating way. Certain textures dominating for a while before receding, changing the framing of the overall field of sound. Something having a clear sense of direction and internal logic while still unpredictable. Something with more space and light than I usually allow in my music, letting the individual sounds stand a bit more on their own.

While most tracks grew from improvisations on the electric organ embellished with synth and chains of fx, the outside world slowly crept into the mixes too: Chattering jackdaws and distant trains heard from my boyfriend’s balcony in the South Harbor area of Copenhagen. Digital noise melting into a light summer drizzle. The environment inside my freezer while defrosting. Beaches and lakes recorded on travels in Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Somehow it always ends up being about water!

After a while things grew into the 53 minutes of moon music that make up this album. Slightly abstract with the occasional eerie nocturnal undertone, but hopefully also a sensual, clam and approachable sequence of spaces to explore for the listener.

For more than two decades Marc Kellaway has been a central part of the Copenhagen experimental music scene.

Beside the solo releases he play organ in the psychedelic noise rock band Distotion Girls, and releases dubbed out techno EPs as The Exquisite Test Center.
