Aquamarina EP by Wizard of Soul
The Canary Islands spellcaster, Wizard of Soul, weaves together three charming electronic
incantations in this occult debut EP.
A trance-tinged, sluggish roller materialises from Baelor’s introductory soundscapes,
meandering through the psychic lowlands. Feathery pads gleam through the release like shafts
of sunlight beneath the ocean’s surface, all manner of synthesised sparks flicker and fade and
flicker again. One track floats into the next. Martin Tribaux propels the work through a deep
aural cosmos before Aquamarina’s titular finale begins to channel a more serene sort of sorcery.
Watertight breaks bob up and down on a sea of sounds. Blissed out loops and melodies dance
with one another on this sunshine cruiser. Is the day over? Or has it just begun?
