Que Linda by Mary Chicken Soup And Rice

QUE LINDA is the debut album from Los Angeles’ Mary Chicken Soup And Rice, released in accordance with the occult power of numbers on Clearly Records, Pi Day 2025.

The MCSR moniker was inspired by the animated special “Really Rosie,” a collaboration between Carole King and author Marice Sendak, and honors play and irreverence in the throes of a tirelessly antagonist but beautiful world.

During the pandemic, Mary pulverized his right wrist in a bicycle accident and shortly thereafter cut off the tip of his left ring finger in a separate accident. This solo act is a commitment to the art through calamity, with certain knowledge that gathering in community for music worship remains a revolutionary mystical act.

“Que Linda” is in memory of his mother Linda, an English teacher and watercolorist, who painted its cover as her last commission before succumbing to ovarian cancer in August, 2024.
