Divorce by Maslow's Basement
What can I say? Divorce is an ugly business and excruciating experience for most people when they face it.
It's even more difficult when your partner flat out abandons you with zero communication and initiates legal proceedings based on lies hoping to prevail in our expensive legal system.
This album chronicles my journey into homelessness for the second time in my life, and the hurt, betrayal, anger and sadness that accompanied it all. In the midst of the absolute worst of it, I did the unthinkable: I stuck a loaded 9mm in my mouth with every intention of leaving it all behind in a flash. It is purely the grace of the Universe that I was interrupted about six minutes before my planned departure.
If you find yourself in similar circumstances - if you just can't see any way past the situation you find yourself in, please know that there IS help. Permanent solutions to otherwise temporary problems cannot be reversed, and believe me, there is life after wishing yourself dead.

Maslow's Basement is a musical project originally formed in Los Angeles California, now seeking collaborators in Kansas City. Project music is most often lyrically inspired by several notions related to Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs - and describe the personal journeys and processes involved in escaping from the lower levels and climbing out of the basement.
