Kintsugi by Massimo Biolcati
Massimo Biolcati’s fifth release as a leader, Kintsugi, reunites the bassist/composer with Aaron Parks, Lionel Loueke, and Kendrick Scott two decades after their time touring together in Terence Blanchard’s band.
The album features five new Biolcati compositions and standards, all shaped by the friendship and musical history these artists share. The title refers to the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, symbolizing celebration of history and renewal—a theme reflected in the album’s spirited interplay and compositional approach.
