Blinking by Matthew B Everett
I quit music to study creative writing, then promptly recorded this album, with the capable complicity of Jed Marshall. For the CD Baby blurb I wrote the following, which may or may not be true: Eleven songs with shadings of British Isles folk, chamber music, and the jazz-tinged pathos of Nick Drake or Joni Mitchell. Arrangements range from stark to lush, with voice and finger-picked guitar backed up by strings, piano, organ, and accordion.
