AAM 47.13.36 by Meso & Central American Sound Library Project

This unprovenienced "Buenos Aires Polychrome" type aerophone featuring a lowland paca (Cuniculus paca) has been housed at the Art & History Museum (AHM), Brussels, since 1947. It was manufactured in the Puntarenas Province, Buenos Aires Canton (Costa Rica), during the Chiriquí Phase A (800-1200 AD). This flute was formerly part of the Germaine Wenziner private collection. Archaeological region & sub-region: Greater Chiriquí, Diquís.
Overall dimensions (depth x width x height): 6,08 x 3,09 x 4,67 (cm).
