Lovebirds Loop from Lofi Heartstrings by metic
Lovebirds is the first loop i’ve ever made when i bought my first guitar looper, the Boss RC-2. it unlocked a door for me musically as i was previously unable to execute all the sounds in my head onto the guitar, given that i wasn’t technically good enough to play rhythm, bass and melody on the guitar simultaneously. i’ve tried fleshing this out into a full song ever since, but came to the conclusion that nothing really could replace the raw feel of the initial loopbox recording. in some ways this loop is the first track i’ve ever produced, so i’ve decided to release this as is, with minimal post work, to celebrate old beginnings and look forward to new ones to come.

Metic fuses soulful guitar grooves with laid-back hip-hop beats. While his playing is rooted in blues and fingerstyle guitar, his productions are informed by 90s boombap, G-funk and trip-hop. A nomadic soul and frequent collaborator, the Brooklyn-based Hong Kong native continues to draw inspiration from both cities.
