Looking through somebody’s fridge
Taking more than I could give
Sucking juice
Through the carton down my shirt
Like some heartless beast
If they could only see me now
We try and try and lose
The exception proves the rule
Tears me out
Of every picture in your house
Contact duct taped to an eye
Reflects a face all magnified
Frozen over desperate
Like a rookie cop in a shotgun chair
Make the wrong move and it’s us who’ll pay the price it’s only fair
We failed you in a thousand little ways
That no one saw so no one says
But you and I both know
You won’t choke if you chew

And it tears me up
Every day from adderall to ambien
Holy shit what’d I miss
Well it’s nothing worth remembering again
I don’t mind in fact I do this all the time
It’s a shame it’s so lame I know that’s what everybody’s gonna say
