Ever wondered what happens when Olivia Newton-John meets Burning Spear, or whether Mark E Smith and Showaddywaddy’s Dave Bartram ever shared a packet of Golden Wonder crisps? This is Sonic Smash: a daftly and deftly chaotic, exuberant mash-up album where glam rock, dub, TV themes and pop oddities are blended into a sonic 70s casserole of musical tomfoolery.
Expect stomping Saturday night anthems, sporting TV nostalgia, unexpected reggae detours, swimsuit parades, Roy Castle, Mr Sugden from Kes and even a trip to ITV’s finest murder mystery panel show. It’s an album that revives voices from the past, batters them into new shapes and somehow makes it all work.

Mongo Shakers music is an audio casserole of mis-remembered 70s Smash Ups, prog hop, mind funk and audio tomfoolery.
They come from the creative community in Shoreditch in the 90s. The founders, Matt Button and the late Chris Grayson RIP, ran studios where free jazz maestros, punk poet lunatics and earnest young junglists jammed, and recorded.
They now live on a laptop by Teddington Lock.
