Difficult People by Ephemerism

"Difficult People" was recorded in a single session, after much preparation and rehearsals, using only an Ableton Move and a Roland R-07 field recorder. The recording space was decorated with items and images of extreme personal value meant to intentionally reopen old wounds and trigger memories of anger, guilt, self-loathing, insecurity, and regret. It was a shattering psychological experience that took me several days to recover from. Part of my soul has been left behind in these tracks, but frankly, I don’t want it back.

This album is a tribute to those who we love but who bring us the most agony. They are the ones we’ll never see again (and wish we could), and the ones we’ll never get rid of (and wish we could).
