This is a song about reaching out to the One Infinite Creator. Reaching out for more, reaching toward that deepest inner part. Reaching out is really reaching IN.
It came to me after a long day in the studio working on a commercial project...It was just something inside that needed to be expressed!
About 6am I emerged from the dark studio with this pretty much intact. No instrumentation or further vocal overdubs were added, but the mixing process took months because I kept trying to "improve" it...after ten mixes I realised I'd got it right by Mix 3.
