"Cobalto" is the debut album of Motivado

Motivado (Mario Martínez) presents his first album "Cobalto", published on Discos Pegaos, the chilean label that launches its first reference in long format.

After publishing the EPs trilogy "Bobby Fischer" (2011) "Stasi" (2012) and "Profiterol" (2014), Motivado reformulates his proposal, a proposal that was able to act with ease in the grounds of house, disco and boogie. In "Cobalto" Motivado delivers an electronic pack that expands his ideas, adding resources such as autotune experiments and a diverse range on the use of drum machines, synthesizers and samples, whose assembly exposes a growing obsession with textures.

While songs like "Thelema", first single of the album, show us a producer interested in lowering the revolutions, tracks like "Seres de Crau" or "Radiata" are in charge of raising the tension, approaching the uptempo vibe of club music. "Venus", meanwhile, includes the filtered voice of the own Motivado, hidden behind some autotune layers. "Cobalto" has 10 tracks that build an harmonic sequence, and at the same time symbolize a new era for Santiago's producer, who this year also participated in "Sesiones of Panamá", the first album by Estancia La Mar, a band conformed by Juan Pablo Abalo (Los Días Contados), Pablo Muñoz (De Janeiros, Gargales) and Motivado himself.

"In Cobalto there is a greater emphasis on texture than on rhythm. These textures make it possible to perceive a pulse or a breath through all the tracks, as if something were alive", Motivado tells. On this album he counts with the collaboration of Pablo Muñoz, who appears as co-producer of the album.
