It feels surreal to say this, but Moveltraxx was founded 18 years ago today. What started in the southern banlieues of Paris in 2007 with a few kids obsessed with Dance Mania, US/FR Rap, Filter House, Bass Music and early '80s Funk / late '70s Disco has grown into something far beyond what we could have imagined.
This journey has taken us around the globe, introducing us to most of the incredible artists who have helped us shaped the label. We’ve experienced magical moments and life-changing experiences that only music can provide, but also heartbreaking losses with the passing of core founders and artists. RIP Fonkillah Gerald, RIP DJ Rashad, RIP Mr. Mozaphanka, RIP Paul Johnson.
To celebrate this anniversary, we are releasing an 18-track compilation featuring certified classics and hidden gems from our catalog—a love letter to 18 years of dedication to Juke, Footwork, Jersey Club, Ghetto House, and hybrid bass/club music.
The character on the cover, Moveltboy, was originally created by Delphine Mach (alias Aki) for the flyers of the raves we organized before we had access to Paris clubs.
Thank you for supporting us through it all. After 18 years, it still feels like we’re just getting started. Rest assured, we have a ton of exciting new music to share with you in the coming weeks, months, and years.
No matter whether you’ve been with us since day one or just joined the journey, you’re part of the Moveltraxx Family, and we’re truly grateful to have you with us.
