Envy (Rework) by Muriël Bostdorp & Manos Milonakis

When Muriel Bostdorp asked me to rework one of her "Resilient" pieces, I was in big trouble. All of her compositions were so timelessly beautiful, making it difficult for me to select just one...However, a unique connection with "Envy" sparked an instant idea for re-instrumentation.. Halfway through listening, a sense of familiarity emerged from the depths of my subconscious mind. It felt as if Muriel had previously reworked a non-existent string quartet piece, beautifully rendering it on her piano - a lost overture....For the following 2 months, my mission was to find that unheard piece, transcribe it, and record it to the best of my abilities.
So, with the help of my longstanding collaborators Thodoris Papadimitriou (cello, viola) and Christina Georgeli (violin), we successfully brought this imagined piece to life. The narrative of one of the oldest human emotions, envy, was vividly and precisely conveyed through their skilled and punctual performances.
