‘Distance’ is the representation of broken feelings, eternal sadness and loneliness, a source of pain and joy at the same time. It’s the expression of a sense of melancholy and nostalgia when you lose someone you love, someone who’s so far away now.
A sense of nostalgia that combines the sadness of loss with the joy or satisfaction that the loss is not complete, nor can ever be, since we can imagine and remembrances are still part of us.
The album in lighter moments draws inspiration from 80’s synth pop and combines it with electronic and experimental sounds influenced by Grimes, Hiroshi Yoshimura and more.
