What is in the world that makes you try a little?
What is in the world that makes you cry a little?
Its a picture that you realize you’ve seen in all your books
its a picture recognized but it is not the one you took

If it makes you laugh why do you sigh a little?
each time you see it again you die a little?
Its a picture that you hide away inside that book you own
Its a picture cast so far away across the seeds you’ve sown

So make it last for when you try a little?
A time will come when you can buy a little?
A bigger place to house this emptiness inside of all you own
Without a trace of a reason why you should even call this place your home.

What are you to care if you fly to high a little?
As long as you can live the lie a little?
While the picture grows and truth is told there’s one thing left to learn
When you fly so high across the sky you’re asking to get burned

So when you laugh make sure you cry a little
For in the end it’ll make you die a little
For so many years in this frame appeared a scene of total bliss
But as the world turns each day you learn it becomes your own abyss
