HEAVEN AVENUE by BLUE

"Today arrived my copy of the BLUE-CD HEAVEN AVENUE. I listened to it now for two times and I have to say, I like it very much. Each of the tracks has a very fine melody and is arranged superb. Vocals and instruments sound really wonderful. I'm sure, I can't get this album out of my CD-Player for a long time. Let Hugh and Ian know, they enjoyed me very much and they've done again a great job."

Just got my copy in the mail yesterday...HELLUVA CD! Wow! I'm 51, have over 3500 lp's and 11000 CD's, have always felt like I missed something by not ever hearing the first "Blue" album until the late 90's. It's the ONLY album I ever heard for the first time more than 20 years after it's release that I could NOT stop listening to...for weeks! Tried all the others, and though many were good, some great, none of them made me feel like the first one...But I gotta say...This new one holds its own with just about anything. What a GREAT record!!! I can't say enough about it.

In October 1979 the group relocated to Los Angeles, parting company with Rocket Records. They continued performing at various venues throughout California including a residency at the Central Club (later The Viper Club), The Palomino,The Troubadour and The Roxy where they played alongside The Band whose guests were Dr John and Joe Cocker.
Their album 'The LA Sessions' was recorded at The Band's (The Last Waltz) Shangri-la Studios, Zuma beach, California.
In 1983 Hugh returned to the UK where he continues writing and recording.
Ian MacMillan joined Hugh on various sessions, check out 'Heaven Avenue'.
