Rusty Teeth envisions the survivalist mentality necessary for independent hip-hop artists, extending the metaphor of DIY to a post apocalyptic future where today’s dystopia birthed the ruins amidst which Nec Nymbl and Sankofa navigate. It is dark, eerie, mysterious, adventurous, cinematic, story-telling, with a sci-fi/dystopian grit. The track ends off with a sudden change into a more wild, psychedelic, drum & bass sound with action packed vocals and crazy effects engineered by Nec's brilliance. A song with intense imagery regarding the dread of living in a deceived world of ruin, mixed with the glimmer of hope with a message of reassurances that everything will be fine even when it doesn't seem to. This song is that spark... that fire to stand up and survive against all odds... to swim against the current and remain real and not be swayed by current trends which fade, putting lyricism and creative beat making with  experimental compositions at the forefront.
This track is a perfect experimental fusion of a golden era hip-hop boom bap masterpiece along with some sudden change-up into a drum & bass swagger, with that dope funky hard bass-line riding along throughout the cinematic journey that is reminiscent of a film score for a dystopian, mystery, crime, action, thriller packed with adventure and grime... To top it off one can say that there are even elements of trip-hop depth fused with some cyberpunk strains in it. A dark, storytelling track that will always remain modern yet classical in this ultimate reign of hip-hop and electronic music. The trademark multi-dimensional layering and panning that is present in many of Nec Nymbl's compositions, with the bouncy baa, trippy guitar licks, ghoulish vocal stabs and gritty beat makes this a great track for hip-hop, rock, punk trip-hop and electronic music lovers.
On the beat Nec Nymbl & Surge Cess were experimenting with everything to get that dark, eerie, mysterious gripping-edge thriller soundtrack vibe that they wanted to get across... and when Sankofa and Nec Nymbl shared the microphone to share their adventurous story in the dystopian post-apocalyptic societies and industries amidst the hip-hop culture and music industry, it was a perfect blend. Nec Nymbl & Sankofa wanted to make a single that was ambitious and different to the rest of the album, and place it as the closing sound-piece in order to push their creative boundaries and just be bold...and that they did!
When the beat suddenly switches to drum & bass, the theme becomes more aggressive, adventurous, psychotic, with deranged synth-wobble sounds in which Nec Nymbl's flow changes into different patterns and moods, which show the listeners what he is capable of musically and lyrically/vocally as a most-diverse multi-talented artist. Sankofa comes as a supreme story-teller as the torch ispassed to Nec when they share the chorus, and then Nec contonues the post-apocalyptic storytelling but then takes large shots blasting the whole banking system, school system, globalist movement, new world order, shady music/entertainment industry, fake hip-POP posers, Mainstream Media, Pedophilia infused tv/music/political sphere (Epstein, Sean Combs aka Puff Daddy) as well as the plague of the new age "Meta-Human" modes of life with the social media craze. The drum & bass part fused with Nec Nymb's diverse rhyme pattern and rebellious rhymes remind us a bit of "Coded Language" by Saul Williams, or some tracks from San Diego's Orko Tha Sykotik Alien aka Orko Eloheim and Nephlim Modulation Systems (NMS) with Bigg Jus of Company Flow.
This track is really like a hardcore hip-hop-punk tune that just sort of slams in your face. The kind of tune that gets the mosh-pit hype, the skaters grinding, the bmxers doing tricks and snowboarders flipping of hills. Type of song that gets the bboys and bgirls ready to battle. It’s got a very different type of arrangement, as it dismantles song structure and that mainstream dance floor structure, as it creates a sort of hybrid animal that also works as a vocal experiment. It's a quite progressive cinematic track that pulls your attention through as the intensity builds gradually as Nec Nymbl orchestrates within this co-Production with his Torontonian brother-in-rhyme and beats Surge Cess.
With sounds and audio textures that mimic a warm analog cinematic soundscape as well as a dark, cold and mechanical world... it is basically ear candy that provides an educational story of where totalitarianism and humanity clash head to head, as real hip-hop and genuine independent artistry emerges as the victor.
