Bols are the language you speak when you play the tabla. In Neybuu's EP Gold Bols you hear her reciting them in the eponymous track Gold Bols: "dha tireketa dhin na..."
Packed with dance floor energy from beginning to end, Neybuu’s new EP is made to move your feet, stimulating your mind and soul. Each of the 4 tracks has its own unique feel, and feature her signature tabla style that she spent 10 years studying in India. She continues to push the envelope in the electronic music scene with the one-of-a-kind sound she has developed using her customized setup where she incorporates multiple Elektron machines, hand-built synthesizers, and live tabla performances. She has been an educator of Elektron gear since 2016 and has taught various workshops on music production across the globe.
Neybuu spent 10 years studying classical tabla in India under Pandit Ishwar Lal Mishra, who toured the world with Ravi Shankar. Upon returning to the states, she shifted focus to music production and has been using live hardware to create tabla-infused dance music ever since. Her sets are an energetic mix of vocals, synths, beats, tabla, and effects--all of which she loops live.
