Soldier Remix from VISIONS & REVISIONS by Matthew Collings
This is a remix of a song I originally recorded with Libby Kirkpatrick on my "Shunpike" album. Almost none of the original can be heard in this version. I love that.

Matthew contacted me through myspace, saying that he had never done a remix, but was eager to try his hand at it. As you can hear, his approach is almost entirely unlike what we usually call a remix. He took a very short clip of my song, looped it, and played guitar over it. Layers and layers of washed out guitar until there was no trace of the track that inspired it. Since then, Matthew and I have become friends. I have visited him thrice now in Iceland and he came to Chicago while I was living there. We have collaborated some, but not enough to warrant a release. Yet.
