Thank you for buying this record. It took three years to make, during which we got deported, almost broke up, ended relationships, started new ones, and pushed each other further than we thought we could. These songs represent three years of our life. Three years of failures and successes. Three years of what it means to be a Canadian band at the start of 2017. Three years of songs that we needed to write. This is our Modern Jukebox.

Formed in 2010, the band has seen ups and downs, including an appearance on Late Night With David Letterman and an ill-fated cruise ship gig that both broke the band’s heart and yet transformed their sound into a more soulful one. Through it all, Of Gentlemen & Cowards persevered, and this young band’s brand of optimistic, well-crafted soulful rock is borne from its experiences, both good and bad.
