Jewelz by O.C.

"Jewelz" is the sophomore album from O.C., and unlike his debut (1994's "Word...Life"), "Jewelz" features a wider number of guest producers and MC's. Legendary producer DJ Premier (who also oversaw and mixed other parts of the album) lends his hand on four songs, while Buckwild, Da Beatminerz and Ogee all drop 3 songs each. Showbiz and Lord Finesse each contribute one track each, and back when the album was released, the production was highly praised for its clean, crispy but at the same time dark and menacing sound. O.C. plays with a wide array of styles on the album; from the war-metaphor battle song "War Games" to abstract stories on the haunting "The Crow" and a very special history on a mystique woman that enters Credle's life in "Stronjay". Arguably the 2 biggest hits on the album were the 2 singles: "Far From Yours" featuring hip hop/R&B songstress Yvette Michelle and "Dangerous" featuring the late great Big L. Though the differences between O.C.'s two first efforts are very noticeable many fans are constantly, and still, arguing which was the better album out of them.

Omar Credle, best known by his stage name, O.C., represents Brooklyn and Queens, NY. From his early beginnings as part of the Organismz crew w/ Organized Konfusion, to becoming a staple member of the legendary D.I.T.C. crew, O.C. has solidified his stature in hip hop for almost 30 years strong. A master of vivid imagery, profound lyrics, real life introspect, clever wordplay and confident flow.
