In April of 2009 Lars suffered a near fatal head injury from a tree that had blown over due to high winds landing directly on his head and cracking open his skull. This created a large hematoma which put pressure on his brain. But despite that, Lars was able to finally release this album after twelve years. And there will be more music from him in the future!
Anhedonia is defined as the inability to experience pleasure from activities usually found enjoyable, e.g. hobbies, exercise, social interaction or sexual activity. Anhedonia can be a characteristic of mental disorders including mood disorders, schizo-affective disorder, schizoid personality disorder and schizophrenia. Affected schizophrenic patients describe themselves as feeling emotionally empty. Sometimes it is mere passive joylessness and dreariness, discouragement, and dejection. These symptoms can also stem from the result of a traumatic head injury. This is an actuate description of what Lars has been going through.
Lars is determined to continue to create more OP music in the future.

The music of Oneiroid Psychosis is known as some of the darkest in existence. The phrase “oneiroid psychosis” defines a pathologic state in which the subject has difficulty differentiating between reality and dreams. Lars and Leif Hansen have captured the sound of what it must feel like to be so afflicted, making Oneiroid Psychosis one of the most frightening recording artists ever heard.
