I bask in negativity,
Bathe in its black secretion
Inside a pool of infinity
Confided to the boundaries
Of persistent failure.
A constant force
That is no longer controllable
Pulls downward.
Neck-deep, viscous fluid fills my mouth
And tarnishes my vision - stinging my eyes,
As the struggle to stay afloat worsens.
My hands fade through passing objects,
Skiffs glide by piloted by figureless shadows.
The water is thickening.
The strife to breathe becomes an issue of the past
As the dark seas rise.
