Station Theta by Paranautica

Long abandoned, and now a safety liability, Station Theta’s operative days are firmly in the past. Its method for generating power is a well-kept secret, as is the purpose of the strange crest-shaped structure built over it years after the plant’s closure. Stranger still, despite the safety hazards and layers of fencing, the site’s security measures are tripped on a nightly basis, by an unseen culprit with unknown intentions.

Paranautica is an ambient music project by human being Jess Thorsen.

My aim is to tell as many stories of fictional places as I can.

I make sounds using a combination of field recordings, synthesisers, and acoustic instruments all recorded in my "home studio."

I'm also a digital collagist, and make all the art you see here.

I do not use generative AI tools in any aspect of my work.
