I know some creatures
Of might and history
With many features
That’d make a simple Simon stare in glee
It’s quite the beast
That we have come to love
But they ceased
When a projectile came from high above

They stomp around
Or maybe spread their wings
They’re on the ground
Or in the air or even in the sea
Roaming and grazing
And fighting to the death (fight to the death)
They were amazing
Until they all drew their final breath

Why did you have to go

We always loved you so

You lived so long ago
Oh no
But now we are in woe

We built you statues
And rearranged your bones
They’re worth some value
So now you’re never actually alone
We made you movies
And games and cards and toys
It’s such a doozy
How you appeal to any girl or boy

Your lore’s extensive
From years and years ago
It’s real impressive
Yet what would happen next, you wouldn’t know
From outer space
A rock came crashing down (came crashing down)
And then your race
Were blasted super deep under the ground

You lived so long ago

But now we are in woe

Maybe one day
They’ll return from far away
And they’ll show everyone what they can do
Maybe they’ll have new things
Maybe they’ll dance and sing
Who knows what’s in store for me and you

Maybe that day
When they were all blown away
They never perished at all
If they could live through that
And return from the past
Then I think there’s a chance we’ll hear their call
