Someone said when you`re winning
You`re already halfway to the top
We planted verdant verses in the earth
We harvested the cream of the crop

We got our hands pretty dirty
Way back in the meadows of the past
In our future we saw electric Eden
We didn`t realise we`d get there so fast

Come on, brother, let`s go back to paradise
To the gardens of Rimbaud and Verlaine
Those seeds of `67 that we planted long ago
They need geranium rain...

I used to live for those verses
For the poetry, the stories and the songs
In Paul Verlaine I saw the shoots of inspiration
I thought everyone was bound to sing along

Come on, brother, let`s go back to paradise
To the gardens of Rimbaud and Verlaine
Those seeds of `67 that we planted long ago
