100 Seams is a tribute to my grandmother. Created during the year of which she would have been 100 years old.

She was a career seamstress, could make anything, worked at local fabric stores for a few decades, and had numerous sewing machines in the basement and sometimes upstairs on her kitchen table.

Fabric, string, and sewing needles everywhere to my super neat grandfather's dismay. One which even entered the bottom of my foot before entering the bathroom.

But this was Kitty's world. Cafe Vienna coffee in the air, she later crafted jewelry which also filled the space. The first piano I touched was in that house. I watched and listened to her play for years as I left and arrived home from school during my elementary and middle school years.

She's left an indelible impression on me. More than I realized at the time. But as I grow older and submerge ever so deeply into my art, I see her smiling and offering tender support. I graciously honor my roots and feel spiritually connected.

A mostly upbeat album, this is how I choose to celebrate her. 8 of the 10 tracks feature original poetry, inspired by my time with her. Again back to my roots as I wrote poems as a 9 year old, around the same time I started tinkering on the piano... and eventually turning emcee and producer.
