Furnas by Rastronaut
After officially getting his foot on the door with last year’s killer track Flexx – released on the Upper Cuts series – that got supported by DJs such as Uproot Andy, Branko, Toy Selectah or Roska, Rastronaut continues exploring his own lane of techno-influenced global beats with a brand new 2-track EP called ‘Furnas’.
With Lisbon becoming the capital of the Global Club movement, Rastronaut climbs up the scene’s foodchain by mixing the city’s renowned afro-influenced sound with his love for four-on-the-floor kicks. On both Furnas and Fontes the essential moments aren’t the drops – in fact, we’re not even sure if the tracks technically have drops – instead they’re perfectly handcrafted club tracks designed to keep the vibe going at any party regardless of what kind of DJ you think you are.
This particular outlook on club music gets even more obvious when you witness one of his sets at the Hard Ass Sessions, Enchufada’s long-running Lisbon residency at Lux Frágil, where he’s known for consistently taking the crowds for a ride when he takes over the club’s celebrated Funktion One sound system.
With all this and a lot more coming, Rastronaut is steadily becoming one of Lisbon’s hometown heroes, and we’re pretty sure that soon enough the whole world will join us in celebrating him.
