I sit and reflect in my twilight years
Where has my time all gone?
There’s nothing left in life to do
But wait for the end to come

The end of my life it holds no fear
There’s no one left to shed a tear
My journey of life has moved me on
To a world where I don’t belong

My father was killed in world war one
Just before I was born
He never had the chance to see his son
Before his life was gone

I still feel cheated for what I never had
A man to look up to and call my dad
When we meet in heaven I’ll shake his hand
For the life that he gave to me

My friends are gone close family too
There’s no one left but me
No one sees me as man
Just living history

They just don’t think I have a brain
‘Cause my body doesn’t work and it’s racked with pain
All I need is to be blessed
With my eternal rest

I hold a message from the queen
For a hundred birthdays past
Of all the things I have done and seen
I hope this is my last

A hundred years upon the earth
Is not a gift it’s just a curse
The room grows dark the pain has gone
I’m back where I now belong
