Render Ghosts’ self-titled debut album is a finely hewn sequence representing the full range of the band's creativity.
Director recalls Angelo Badalamenti’s stirring string-scapes for David Lynch, whilst Look For Rain is a strange but beautiful mid-tempo song built around an instrumental hook reminiscent of Konono No.1.
Elsewhere there's propulsive alt-synth pop (Totally Numb, Split Me Up), 80s-tinged balladry (High Before My Time) and a torch-song inspired by Everything Everything and JS Bach (Chasing Silhouettes).
