Terrestrial Theatre by Rich Cochrane

Music inspired by early chemistry, particularly the work of Paracelsus. These pieces represent a bit of a combination of techniques and ideas I've been working with over the last year; in particular, most of these pieces feature a mixture of acoustic and electronic sounds.

Most of the pieces are in one of the tunings described here: https://cochranemusic.com/node/274. However, a bit of contrast is created by "Mummia" and "Oil of Arcanum", which are in familiar old 12EDO.

Some of these started life as studies of approaches that I'm hoping to explore in more focused ways that developed lives of their own. In each case I've been working on making the music "speak" clearly and directly.
