A man was travelling
Going from Jerusalem to Jericho
He fell among some thieves
They stripped and beat him
Nearly dead and all alone

A priest was going down that road
Passed on the other side
A Levite came along also
And did not break his stride

But the Samaritan
Came to him and when he saw, he had compassion
Bound up all his wounds
Tended to him, pouring oil and pouring wine on

Put him on his animal
Brought him to an inn
Paid for his recovery
And took care of him

Love the Lord with all your heart,
Soul and strength and mind
Love your neighbour as yourself
Show mercy and be kind
