People, more words on one of the most sublime releases in the IDM stable. This stuff just eats your mind from the inside out. If Autechre had continued from Amber this might have been the next logical step. It is cut to precision with melodies and hooks that drag you in and build in their intensity. Once I had listened to this disc a few times I found that I continued to have dreams with Dyn as their soundtrack, so unable was I to 'switch off' these tracks off in my mind. Im going out on a limb here but I would have to say that this has to be in the top 3 IDM releases of all time. Mind melting, intelligent, evoloving, often dark but with slivers of light and brilliance permeating throughout. Just beautiful.
His ambient textures maintain a cinematic quality throughout, while his percussive arrangements retain a constantly mutating framework, always reconstructing its rhythm and structure, contradicting complex configurations and minimal design. It's always a pleasure to taste the latest treat from this aural engineer, and find the latest gem in his never-ending arsenal of sound.
