Overview Effect by Roger Goula
London composer and multi-instrumentalist, Roger Goula, releases his debut album ‘Overview Effect’ on December 9th via brand new contemporary classical record label Cognitive Shift Recordings (One Little Indian / Manners McDade Music Publishing). The post-classical electronica album’s narrative charts the psychological shift in awareness reported by astronauts and cosmonauts while viewing the Earth from orbit, in transit between the Earth and the Moon, or from the lunar surface – something that fascinated Goula.

It’s undeniable that Roger Goula’s sound has an incredible cinematic quality to it. The way the composer blends inspirations from Renaissance and Baroque music to the language of electronic music and sampling appeals directly to the listener’s imagination, stimulating that part of the brain which conjures dramaturgy and vivid imagery.
