Roots by Rolf Eikeland
Rolf Eikeland's latest album has 11 new and original songs. The music has been described as "A breath of fresh air from the 70s", because Rolf's musical roots are in the 70s, yet it sounds modern with catchy tunes that stick in your ear. The lyrics address some of the big themes in life and are honest reflections based on a life lived in different phases on two continents. They are inspired by his own experiences and the fate of people he is and has been close to.

Credits
The new album Roots (self-released) contains eleven new songs, all written by Rolf. The album was recorded and produced by Inge Engelsvold at Angel Hill Studios, Tou Lyd in Stavanger, Norway. Engelsvold also plays keyboards on the album. He has previously worked with well known Scandinavian artists like Morten Abel, Sigvart Dagsland, Anne Grete Preus, Carola, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, etc. The other musicians are well-known and seasoned Norwegian players, as well as two Canadians. Bernt Yngve Kvam-Johannessen, drums (Morten Abel, The September When, Kristian Valen) Kjetil Vagle, guitars (Midnight Ramblers, Lasse Berheim) and Erling Eriksen, bass (Trond Ytterbø/Notodden Bluesband, Terry Lehns). Phil Mitchell from Whitby, ON plays the blues harp. Phil Manning is an accomplished and sought after Hammond player from Pickering, ON.
