With the clubs returning to full action stations around the country, we are absolutely thrilled to be doing our bit here at RKS, as we unveil another selection of dancefloor heat, this time from East London based DJ & Producer: SPD, who rattles a few bass bins with two sizzling rollers.
In the past we have seen SPD form a fantastic fusion of harddrum, techno & UK funky, all of which play a vibrant part in the creation of this EP which kicks off with a sumptuous bassbin shaker by the name of ‘A49’. This one is fueled by a hard-hitting combination of phasey bass synth sweeps, crunchy drum chops and delicate pad sweeps, which through some hard-hitting production techniques gives us a bouncy bubbler, perfect for the late night raving crew to get their teeth stuck into.
The flip sees us get into a much more lively display of percussive mastery and rhythmic intensity as ‘Rudey’ deploys some of the craziest drum combos we’ve heard in a hot minute. A lethal injection of warbling bass tones and well-pocketed perc stabs really do take this one to the next level as it’s unpredictability and raucous nature is sure to inspire ravers into a sparky jig.
Both of these tracks are a fantastic look into the production mind of SPD, whose high energy take on the UK Funky sound makes another welcome addition to the RKS catalogue.
