Light Cycle by rustyjaw

Pulling from a lifetime of musical influences, from ambient to funk. synthwave to psychedelia, this album is the result of 2 years of searching for joy in the expression of sound.

The sonic palette I aimed for is iridescent, glistening and vibrant. I wanted to contrast sounds that float and flutter and drift through hues, with elastic and syncopated bass that holds it all together in a foundational groove.

Another goal was to strip back the structures to elemental parts, leaving out anything that I didn't feel propelled the songs forward. This lead me to pretty tight song structures, something new for me.
