No Roses from Hlywing by Ruth Angell
I found this beautiful poem by Christina Rossetti in a collection called Palgraves Golden Treasury whilst on the Isle of Wight at Tennyson’s House, Farringford. The music was written in an ornate church in Italy and finally this arrangement has now been finished with gorgeous strings written by Sid Peacock and the delicate piano playing of Steve Tromans. This song was played at my Grandmothers funeral and always reminds me of her.
