Edward was from Iowa
Where the winters are hard and cold
He filled his den with a mainframe
That a local college sold

Programmed a custom sim city
With it's denizens soft wired
Monitored like Truman
To see which ones inspired

Then he'd take the select ones
And start the program again
Separate the eclectic bunch
Run them in a sub routine

Well one day Ed had a brainstorm
Cross-wired the phase shaded trims
He thought he'd make a perfect world
But he ended up with noisy sims

Edward was from Iowa
But his shattered mind turned off
He crashed and burned his mainframe
Consumed with playing
