Rooms is an ongoing series of musical interactions to try and keep a sense of community and interconnectedness going throughout a time of uncertainty and grief. Beyond that it is designed to create meeting points for artists who don’t have the ability to exist in the same physical space.
in this moment, the intensely social aspects of improvised and experimental music are wing clipped, we are isolated and without an important aspect of our musical practice. Finding ways to maintain and encourage community and togetherness is more important than ever. Rooms is one attempt at doing such a thing.

Room 13

The first instalment of Rooms is a collection of duos. All artists are playing with the same centre created by me (samuel hall). The idea is to simulate a situation where at the moment of the first duo’s creation, any of the other artists could have been visiting me in my room, interacting and creating together. Subsequently creating a new room, one where we both exist together for the duration of the music.
