To you Sarah Goldstone may be new, born again in your inbox, but to Sarah herself she has lived multiple lives already. Previous cultural climates would probably call her a "multi-hyphenate," but at this point that's more or less required just to stand a chance in this beautiful business called the pennies-for-streams-apocalypse. I mean, rock and roll. One spreads oneself professionally thin in order to cover bases, pay bills, and ultimately, hopefully, do the thing one's dreamt of doing. And now, Sarah Goldstone is most certainly doing the thing.

The short version: Sarah Goldstone's been touring the past few years playing with boygenius, Lucy Dacus, and Hurray for the Riff Raff and is now releasing her debut album, produced by Adam Schatz, released by Ruination Records.

This magnificent group of songs shows a subversive grasp of melody and harmony, gleaned from years of playing, listening and remaining open. And openness is key here, because these songs are deceptively complex, but generously available to anyone who presses play. It's a magic trick, and like all magic tricks you're not allowed to ask how it's done. There's a joy in just letting it hit you.
