theres a metaphor in this song, "i watched you die" which doesnt literally mean i watched someone die. it's something i experienced when i was younger. a part of someone died. someone i held very close to my heart. something worse took them over. something happened to them, and it had changed them seemingly forever. it made them cruel. i watched them die in the sense that their old self was no longer who they were. their old self, however, would come in flashes sometimes, like a ghost. theyre not in my life anymore, but i wish them well.
