Sverðberandi from Singles 2023 by Secret Archives of the Vatican
Sverðberandi is an old Norse poetic term for a warrior, literally : sword-bearer. This is dark, ritualistic, primordial, evoking ancestral memories of Norse heroes. Medieval and pre-medieval instruments and language-less vocals take you to an ancient, half-forgotten age.
Main instruments in the track are frame drums, a tagelharpa, some medieval reed instruments and a flute. We're having fun working with vocals more then we have in the past but we're still using virtual instruments to do this. It would be great to work with real vocalists.
