Scars from Scars by Secret Postal Society
‘Scars’ is the first solo single in 2025 from Welsh singer-songwriter Craig Mapstone, better known as Secret Postal Society.
This track follows on from the critically acclaimed single ‘Autumn Leaves’ which was in the Top 100 Indie Songs of 2024 by Eclectic Music Lover .
Lyrically, the song is about how we all have our own scars - whether they are physical or emotional scars - that can affect us in different ways but with love, understanding and support we can learn to accept that these scars have made us who we are and we can start to heal and love ourselves. Musically ‘Scars’ was influenced by the French cafe jazz music of the 1960s, with its accordion, lush string arrangement and hypnotic acoustic guitar arpeggio.
