THOMAS STONE presents Of Science & Superstition.

"Of Science & Superstition continues my exploration into higher forces; what one choses to align with, how this affects a wider view and – in this particular case – where the crossover between science and superstition occurs.

"In my previous works HOST and An Act Of Surrender, I focused on questioning whether submission to a “higher force” is an active or passive process. For Of Science & Superstition, I started with the premise that some form blind faith is essential in whichever way one decides to explain this force.

"Influence was taken from the chamber works of Dmitri Shostakovich, the bassoon writing of Sofia Gubaidulina, and the experimental techno of Pan Sonic and Emptyset to yield an electroacoustic ambient soundworld of searching chromatic motifs set against sub-bass oscillations and sympathetic resonances.

"The A side of the cassette features the tracks Limitations and An Act Of Surrender Part 2, with Side B consisting of the title piece." – TS
